Refer bakers. Earn your U Steam.

Referral program terms and conditions

The U Steam Referral Program is available to existing U Steam Kickstarter backers during the active U Steam Kickstarter campaign.

Referral Rewards

Your reward is based on the number of successful referrals attributed to your unique referral link.

1 Successful Referral → Free Shipping

Qualifying backers will receive up to $29 off shipping when shipping charges are collected.

• For backers in the contiguous United States, this will cover the full planned shipping charge for orders containing up to two U Steam units.
• Backers in Alaska and Hawaii will receive a $29 credit toward their shipping charge.
• If your final shipping charge exceeds $29, you are responsible for the remaining balance.

2 Successful Referrals → $100 Back + Shipping Benefit

Qualifying backers will receive:

• The shipping benefit described above; and
• A $100 refund from their Kickstarter pledge.

The $100 reward applies to the entire Kickstarter pledge, not to each U Steam in the order.

For example, if your pledge contains two U Steam units, the reward is still $100 total—not $100 per unit.

3+ Successful Referrals → One U Steam for $1 + Shipping Benefit

Qualifying backers will receive:

• The shipping benefit described above; and
• A refund that reduces the price paid for one U Steam unit to $1.

If your pledge contains multiple U Steam units, this reward applies to one unit only. Any additional U Steam units remain at their original pledge price.

The $100 reward from the 2-referral tier does not stack on top of the $1 U Steam reward. Once you reach 3 successful referrals, the $1 U Steam reward replaces the $100 refund, while your shipping benefit remains.

What Counts as a Successful Referral?

A referral qualifies when all of the following are true:

• The referred person is a new qualifying U Steam Kickstarter backer.
• They back the campaign using your unique referral link.
• Their pledge includes at least one U Steam.
• Their pledge remains active through the end of the Kickstarter campaign.
• Their payment is successfully collected by Kickstarter.

Canceled, dropped, failed, fraudulent, or fully refunded pledges do not count toward referral rewards.

Referral Attribution

Referrals must use the unique referral link provided to you by U Steam.

Kickstarter's referral attribution data will be the primary source used to determine successful referrals and final reward eligibility.

One referred backer may only count toward one referrer.

If you believe a legitimate referral was not properly attributed, you may contact U Steam at hello@u-steam.co after the campaign with information identifying the referred backer, and we will review the referral.

Eligibility

You must already be a U Steam Kickstarter backer to participate in the referral program.

Self-referrals do not qualify.

U Steam reserves the right to review or disqualify referrals involving duplicate accounts, the same purchaser, fraudulent activity, manipulation of the referral system, or other attempts to artificially generate qualifying referrals.

Reward Fulfillment

Referral rewards will be finalized after the Kickstarter campaign ends and pledge payments have been successfully processed.

Shipping rewards

Shipping discounts will be recorded and applied when U Steam collects shipping charges.

$100 reward

The 2-referral reward will be issued as a $100 partial refund through Kickstarter.

$1 U Steam reward

For the 3+ referral reward, U Steam will issue a partial refund through Kickstarter equal to the amount necessary to reduce the price paid for one U Steam unit to $1.

For example, if the qualifying U Steam in your pledge cost $324, the refund associated with that unit would be $323.

If your pledge contains multiple units, only one unit qualifies for the $1 price.

Rewards apply only to the qualifying backer's existing Kickstarter pledge and may not be transferred to another person or exchanged for a separate cash payment.

Program Period

Only qualifying referrals made after the U Steam Referral Program launches and before the U Steam Kickstarter campaign ends are eligible.

The referral program ends when the U Steam Kickstarter campaign ends.

Changes, Errors & Abuse

U Steam reserves the right to review referral activity, correct attribution or administrative errors, disqualify fraudulent or abusive activity, and make reasonable changes necessary to administer the program fairly.

Any material changes to reward thresholds will not be applied retroactively to referrals already earned under the program.
